Trump briefly taken to underground bunker during protests against George Floyd's death outside White House: Report
Washington (USA) | Jagran News Desk: Amid the raging protests in the United States against the death of George Floyd, President Donald Trump was briefly taken to the White House underground bunker on Friday night, reported The New York Times.
According to the report publish in The New York Times, Trump was there for a less than an hour. However, it is still unclear whether first lady Melania Trump and Barron Trump were also with him or not.
Trump was taken to the underground bunker after hundreds of people surged towards the White House on Friday. The officials were surprised were surprised by the protests that were witnessed outside the White House on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the US President commended the US Secret Service for protecting him inside his fortified mansion Friday evening and said that he couldn't have felt "more safe".

On Sunday, as many as 40 cities and Washington DC across the United States have imposed curfews in response to the continuing protests against the death of African-American man George Floyd in police custody.
According to a CNN report, 40 cities have imposed curfews and approximately 5,000. So far, five people have been killed as protests in parts of the country that turned violent on Sunday. According to The Washington Post, police have arrested over 2,500 people in two dozen US cities over the weekend.
National Guard members have been activated in 15 states and Washington, DC with another 2,000 prepared to activate if needed.
Demonstrators across the US have been protesting since May 25, when George Floyd, a 46-years-old African American man, died under the police custody in the city of Minneapolis.
