King of Rock`n`Roll Elvis Presley's only grandson Benjamin Keough dies at 27
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Late American Singer Elvis Presley's only grandson Benjamin Keough, passed away on Sunday, with the local media reporting the reason of his death to be “apparent suicide”.
Benjamin’s mother Lisa Marie Presley’s manager confirmed the news of his death to news agency AFP. The 27-year-old who was the only son of "The King`s" daughter, Lisa Marie Presley was found in Calabasas near Los Angeles.
Quoting police sources, the celebrity news website TMZ reported that Benjamin has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to a report by AFP, No immediate word or statement however was recorded from the authorities on the circumstances of Benjamin’s death. Meanwhile, Manager Roger Widynowski provided no details about the death, saying that Lisa Marie Presley -- Elvis's only child from his marriage to actor Priscilla Presley -- was "heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated". Telling that Lisa adored that boy and he was the love of her life, Widynowski added that she was "trying to stay strong" for her daughters.
Celebrity news website TMZ reported that Benjamin Keough was himself a musician who struck a record deal and had earned a couple of acting credits in his burgeoning career.
Although Keough seldom appeared in public but one of the last times he was in public with the family was during a vigil at Graceland for the 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley`s death in Memphis in 2017. Lisa Marie Presley, who has three other children, on his relationship with his son Benjamin whose middle name is “storm” even wrote a song about Ben called "Storm and Grace, a title track from her third album which was released in 2012.
Lisa Marie Presley`s only son had described that Keough bore an uncanny resemblance to his grandfather, who was widely acclaimed as the "King of Rock `n` Roll," and died in 1977 at the age of 42.
