#UnsubscribeTseries: Sonu Nigam's viral video revives T-series vs PewDiePie rivalry but there's a twist
New Delhi | Jagran Trending Desk: Singing star Sonu Nigam came down heavily on the pattern of exploitative business practices which the ‘two top music labels’ engage into, which pushes the newcomers in the industry towards the edge.
In a video which went viral on Monday, Sonu accused T-series owner Bhushan Kumar of attempting to sabotage his image, which stimulated the #UnsubscribeTseries trend on social media.

I can't believe bollywood Mafia's are targeting him 😣
T series Bhushan Kumar has support of Ajay devgn and Salman khan. And they are trying to end career of Sonu Nigam. 😣

So in a notable turn of tables after Sonu’s video went viral, netizens started calling for unsubscribing to T-series – country’s foremost Music label on YouTube.
“So now Bollywood Mafia is after #SonuNigam, one of the finest our music industry has to offer, and bhushan kumar is supporting them. His company Tseries has 14.3 crore subscribers on YouTube. Everyone go unsubscribe and trend #UnsubscribeTSeries. Dukaan band karo inki (close down their shops),” one user wrote.

However, the humour outweighed the rage on Twitter quite spontaneously, as netizens started comparing the call to unsubscribe T-series resulting in the Swedish content creator PewDiePie closing the gap towards becoming the most subscribed YouTube creator.
“#SonuNigam is his recent video I hope more people come forward to Expose the dark / bad side of this industry #UnsubscribeTSeries,” wrote another user.
It is noteworthy that months ago, Indian internet users were actively contributing to the campaign of subscribing to music label T-series’ YouTube channel, in a bid to ensure that an ‘Indian’ label outshines the subscriber count of PewDiePie, a Swedish creator. Thanks to the sustained campaign which Indians spearheaded all across the social media, T-series continues to be the most subscribed YouTube channel in the world with over 140 million subscribers, followed by PewDiePie with over 105 million YouTube subscribers.
