New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Twitter faced outage today as users were not able to post tweets for a few minutes during the afternoon hours. Users were facing inconvenience as they are unable to access the micro-blogging website or retweet.

Website outage metric platform "Downdetector" confirmed that Twitter did face an outage across India after 2 pm. When we tried to access the website, the error shown was, “tweets aren’t loading right now. Please tap to retry”. Twitter had a good run without any issues for 5-months, as their last outage was reported on October 22, 2019, which was for about 30 minutes.

Ironically, Twitter users were quick to express their concerns on Twitter as soon as it was up again, after a brief breakdown of 10 minutes that started at 2.45 pm.

A Twitter user, Vijay Hardaha questioned, "was Twitter down in India for 5-10 mins?"

"Looks like Twitter is down for many users in India," wrote another Twitter user.

However, the latest Twitter outage did not affect every user, as it was a very sparsely spread outage. Still, many users were seen Tweeting after the micro-blogging website came back online complaining about this outage. For the past two years, many social media websites have been prone to malware attacks and outages. This is probably the first time in 2020 that Twitter users faced problems, especially in India.

Apart from India, Twitter users of Malaysia, Indonesia, the US and some parts of Europe also faced problems while accessing the social media platform and using some of its features.

Twitter has not issued any statement yet on the reasons for this outage on February 17, 2020. We will update this story as soon as twitter comes out with a statement regarding today's incident.
