Coronavirus Outbreak: Reliance Jio launches new prepaid plans for work from home users amid COVID-19 lockdown, details inside
New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: Tech giant Reliance Jio has come up with new prepaid plans for its customers amid coronavirus lockdown in the country to help those users who are working from home.
The new plan is priced at Rs 251 and can be found under 'Work from Home' tab on your 'MyJio' app. It comes with 2GB 4G data for a period of 51 days. After consuming your data, the speed will get reduced to 64kbps. The pack does not include free voice calls or SMS.
The Ambani-owned company is offering Rs 101 per prepaid 4G data with your pre-existing plan, which includes 12 GB data and 1,000 minutes of Jio to other operators' free voice calls. After consuming the data speed will be reduced to 64 kbps.
The company has also updated some of the data voucher plans. It offers more data and free non-Jio voice call at the pre-existing price. Jio users can recharge with either Rs 51, Rs 21 and Rs 11 to get 6GB + 500 minutes, 2GB+200 minutes and 800MB+75 minutes respectively.
Other than the 4G plan, Reliance is also providing several new offers to its JioFibre broadband users.
The offer by Reliance Jio comes amid coronavirus outbreak in the country. As many as 80 districts have been placed in lockdown across several states to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Employees from almost every company have been asked to work from home.
Last week ACT and BSNL had come up with similar plans offering up to 5GB data to landline users.
When it comes to the pandemic, there are 390 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India-- as per the Union Health Ministry. The figure includes 7 fatalities, 41 foreign nationals and 24 cured.
Globally, more than 11,000 deaths due to novel coronavirus and 1,66,000 confirmed cases were reported till Sunday.
