Redmi 8A launched in India: Comes with 'Dot Notch', '5000 mAh battery'; check prices, specs and more here
New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi on Wednesday launched Redmi 8A. The device is a successor to Redmi 7A and includes 'Aura Wave Grip', splash resistant P2i nano-coating, sports 'Dot Notch', wireless FM radio feature among major specifications. The device is available in three different colour options and includes 5000 mAh battery.
Redmi 8A is available in shades such as midnight black, sunset red and ocean blue for which sales will kick off at 11.59 pm on Sunday (September 29). The device will be available for purchase on Mi Home store and Flipkart's 'Big Billion Days'.
Among specifications, the smartphone includes 6.22-inch screen with HD+ display and aspect ratio of 19:9. Redmi 8A is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM. The smartphone is based on Android Pie and MIUI 10 and includes Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
For photography, Redmi 8A has 12 MP Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 lens and LED flash. It also includes an 8MP selfie camera.
The phone also includes AI face unlock feature. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wifi, Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. The device is backed by a 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Redmi 8A is available in 2GB + 32 GB and 3GB + 32 GB storage. The starting price of the device is Rs 6,499 while its high-end variant costs Rs 6,999.
It is set to compete against Realme C2 and Samsung Galaxy M10.
Realme C2 is a 6.10-inch device with MediaTek Helio 622 processor. The device was launched in April 2019 and includes dual primary camera 13MP + 2 MP and a 5MP selfie camera. The device runs on Android Pie. It includes 4000mAh battery and available in storage variants such as 2GB + 16 GB, 2GB + 32 GB and 3GB + 32 GB storage options with starting price of Rs 5,999.
Galaxy M10, on the other hand, is a 6.22-inch smartphone with screen resolution of 720x1520. It is based on Samsung Exynos 7870 processor and Android Oreo operating system. It is backed by a 3400 mAh battery and includes 13MP + 5MP camera and 5MP front camera. The device comes with storage variants such as 2GB + 16 GB and 3GB + 32GB. The high-end variant costs Rs 7,990.
