New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: The upcoming Apple iPhone-12 lineup, which is expected to release in September later this year, will have its base model storage leveled at 128 GB which is twice as much base storage as the 64GB which Cupertino-based premium smartphone giant has offered in previous three years, with subsequent launches of its new iPhone lineups since the launch of iPhone 8 series, Jon Prosser, an Apple insider was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.

Prosser stated that the upcoming 5.4-inch iPhone-12 may be priced at $649 (approx. Rs 49,000) while 6.1-inch iPhone 12 may come with a price tag of $749 (approx. Rs 56,500).

“There will be two 'pro' iPhone 12 models as well,” he added.

Apple has increased the base storage capacity of its subsequently released iPhones over the years, going up from 16GB to 32GB with the iPhone 7, and from 32GB to 64GB with the iPhone 8 lineup and iPhone X.
Prosser, who previously reported at par precision the release date of the iPhone SE 2020, said that 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models will be available with 128GB or 256GB of storage and that 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro models will have 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options.

Just like the 5.4-inch iPhone, the 6.1-inch device will sport 5G connectivity and a dual-camera setup at the rear. The only difference is that it would come with a bigger 6.1-inch OLED display, Prosser said further.

Though it is not yet clear that what will be the price range of iPhone 12 lineup for Indian buyers (though $649 translates into Rs 49,000), recently, Apple has effectively started to move past its high-priced premium smartphone launches to score more in the middle-class markets such as India, through affordably priced smartphones In this approach, iPhone SE 2020’s 64 GB variant has been priced at Rs 42,500 by Apple.
