New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: Hong Kong-based smartphone manufacturer Infinix has launched its budget smartphone Infinix S5 Lite that will be available for sale on the e-commerce website Flipkart from November 22. The device runs on MediaTek Helio P22 chipset processor and available at Rs 7,999. The phone is expected to compete with Xiaomi Redmi 8-- launched in October-- in terms of features and price, which is available in two storage variants in the Indian market and its initial price is Rs 7,999. 
Display and Processor
The Infinix S5 Lite uses a punch-hole design and features a 6.6-inch HD + display with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. This smartphone works on octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 128 GB with a MicroSD card. The device is available in Quetzal Cyan, Violet and Midnight Black shades.
Redmi 8 has a 6.22-inch HD + 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. This smartphone works on 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 chipset. Its Storage can be increased to 512 GB. It is available in Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue colour options. 
Both the above devices are based on Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
The Infinix S5 Lite has a triple rear camera setup: 16 MP primary lens with f / 2.0 aperture, 2 MP secondary camera and a QVGA camera. The smartphone also has a 16 MP selfie shooter. Among camera features, it includes 3D Face Beauty, AR Emoji, AR Stickers, Bokeh Mode, AI Scene detection and hybrid focus etc.
Meanwhile, Redmi 8 has an AI dual rear camera, with a 12 MP primary Sony IMX 363 sensor and LED flash and 2 MP depth sensor. The phone has an 8MP AI selfie camera.
Battery and Connectivity
Infinix S5 Lite has a 4,000 mAh battery for power backup while Redmi 8 has a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. In comparison in terms of battery, the Redmi 8 uses a bigger battery and it is capable of longer backup.
Both of the smartphones have WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack with 4G LTE support. Redmi 8 supports USB Type C while Infinix S5 Lite uses Micro USB port.
Infinix S5 Lite is available in 4GB + 64GB storage and it is priced at Rs 7,999.  Redmi 8, on the other hand, can be purchased in two storage variants: 3GB + 32GB model priced at Rs 7,999 and 4GB + 64GB for Rs. 8,999.
