Google For India 2020 Event: Sundar Pichai announces $10B investment in India in over 5 yrs to strengthen Digital India | Highlights
New Delhi | Jagran Technology Desk: Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Union Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today addressed the sixth annual Google for India event on Monday. In the event, the Google announced a USD 10 billion digitisation fund for India over next five to seven years, adding that it will be done through "mix of equity investments, partnerships and operational infrastructure in ecosystem investments".
"Today at Google For India we announced a new USD 10B digitisation fund to help accelerate India’s digital economy. We’re proud to support PM Modi's vision for Digital India - many thanks to Minister RS Prasad and Minister Dr R P Nishank for joining us," said Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
The event was atteneded by Google's top executives, including Google India Country Head and Vice President Sanjay Gupta, Google Vice President Payments and Next Billion Users Caesar Sengupta, as well as Google Senior Country Marketing Director India and Southeast Asia Sapna Chadha.
