Download these four apps to maintain 'social distancing' and safeguard yourself amid coronavirus pandemic
New Delhi | Jagran Technology Desk: The number of coronavirus cases in India is increasing at an alarming rate. So far, the contagious virus has affected almost 40,000 people and claimed the lives of more than 1,300 in India.
Amid the surging number of cases, the government has urged people to practice social distancing as it is the only way to combat the dreadful virus. It has also asked people to download the Aarogya Setu app, saying it helps in tracking the coronavirus cases in the country.
As the government appeals people to download the Aarogya Setu app, here’s a look at some of the other apps that could help you maintain social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic:
The Aarogya Setu app was launched by the government to help people maintain social distancing. It is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Using the Bluetooth, the app will alert the user and send them a notification if they come in contact with a coronavirus positive patient. It will also show whether the user is at high-risk or not.
The 1point5 app has been launched by the United Nations (UN). It helps the users to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters or six feet. The app is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It is quite similar to the Aarogya Setu App. The app scans for nearby mobile devices via Bluetooth and warns the users when a device enters the 1.5-meter radius.
It is another app through which users can practice social distancing. The app has been developed by UNDYE and it helps users maintain a distance of 1 to 2 meters. As soon as any users get closer to each other, this app notifies the user that they have broken the social distance. This way it helps in tracking social distancing among employees at the organisation level as well.
The mContain app is also currently available only for Android users. It will soon be launched for iOS users. This app uses Bluetooth to notify users to maintain social distancing. Apart from this, the Daily Proximity Encounter is displayed on this app, which lets the user know how many people have been close to him every day.
