Sania Mirza confirms her sister Anam’s marriage with Azharuddin’s son Asad in December this year
New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: In what was considered just a rumour earlier, the love affair between Sania Mirza’s sister Anam Mirza and Mohammad Azharuddin’s son Asad Azharuddin has been confirmed by the tennis star herself. She said that the duo is going to marry in December. Both Anam and Asad know each other for quite a long time now and news regarding their rumoured love affair continuously sparked from time to time.
“They both ( Asad and Anam) are tying the knot in December. We just came back from her bachelorette trip to Paris. We are really excited. Anam is marrying a lovely boy and his name is Asad and he happens to be the son of Mohammad Azharuddin and we are really excited about it,” Sania said, as reported by The Times of India.
Sania Mirza is currently on a break from tennis as she gave birth to a boy in October last year and named him Izhan. Sania will be back to the court by December 2020 after almost three years after taking a break from the sport as she got pregnant and got involved in the activities of mom-to-be. She was last seen on-court at China Open in 2017.
Explaining about her life after having a son she said that he became my inspiration to get back to being fit, and termed her son Izhan as the biggest blessing of her life.
“I thought I will be able to come back by August but probably by January, it looks like a possibility. Having (son) Izhan is the biggest blessing I could have. If I am able to come back, it will be amazing. He’s my inspiration to get back to being fit. If I do come back, it will not be to prove anything. The only reason to come back would be that I love playing and competing,” Sania said in August as reported by news agency PTI.
Meanwhile, Azhar’s son, Asad, was inducted into Goa’s pre-season camp last year and sparked controversy, as the inclusion of him comes after Azhar joined the team management as a consultant. Many alleged that Asad was included in the team just because of his father’s presence in the management of the team.
However, he didn’t play the Vijay Hazare trophy instead he was included in the team for Ranji Trophy where he scored only 17 runs in two matches against Services and Tripura.
Earlier, Asad had played for Hyderabad Cricket Association Colts XI in Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup in 2009, before his first-class debut.
