Los Angeles (USA) | Jagran Sports Desk: Retired NBA legend and five time champion Kobe Bryant, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, was killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday in suburban Los Angeles.

The 41-year-old was travelling along with his daughter and seven others to when their Sikorsky S-76 helicopter slammed into a rugged hillside in Calabasas, west of Los Angeles.There were no survivors in the crash.

His death news sent shockwaves throughout the world and his fans left stunned by the incident.

US President Donald Trump said that he was shocked to hear this ‘terrible news’. “Reports are that basketball great Kobe Bryant and three others have been killed in a helicopter crash in California. That is terrible news!,” Trump said in a post on Twitter.

“Kobe was a legend on the court and just getting started in what would have been just as meaningful a second act. To lose Gianna is even more heartbreaking to us as parents. Michelle and I send love and prayers to Vanessa and the entire Bryant family on an unthinkable day,” said former US President Barack Obama while reacting to Kobe’s death.

“Laker Nation, the game of basketball and our city, will never be the same without Kobe,” said former NBA star Magic Johnson on Twitter.

Bryant is a five-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic gold medallist and is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players in history. He began his career in 1996 and retired in 2016.

Bryant was also a two-time Olympic gold medallist and had helped the US won gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics.

Apart from Basketball, Bryant also won an Oscar for his role in the short animated movie “Dear Basketball” in 2018. The short animated film had brought hime a lot og fame and fortune.
