New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: Ending yet another tournament on a disappointing note, India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu crashed out of the Denmark Open after losing to 17-year-old An Se Young of South Korea on Thursday.  

Sindhu lost to An Se Young with 14-21, 17-21 in a one-sided clash that lasted for 40 minutes. Sindhu’s match with the youngster An Se Young is the first encounter between the two on the BWF World Tour.

This is Sindhu’s third exit from a BWF world tournament, after winning the BWF World Championship in August. Sindhu lost to Pornpawee Chochuwong in the second round at China Open. She again tasted defeat in the first round of Korea Open by Beiwen Zhang.  

Earlier on Wednesday, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth also were defeated in the first round facing an exit from the tournament. With Sindhu’s loss, this is India’s third high profile exit from the tournament.

Young took the early initiative in the match and never let Sindhu work her way back as she led Sindhu 11-7 at the break in the first game, from where she hardly let Sindhu come close before pocketing the first game 21-14.

From the start of the match, An Se took control of the match and led Sindhu 11-7 at the break time and finished the first game 21-14. in the second game, Sindhu manages to take a lead of 8-4 but failed to maintain it and the South Korean won five straight points to take the lead 9-8. reaching the break time Sindhui again advances and took the score to 11-9.


But after the break time, the 17-year-old took Sindhu by storm and wrapped up the match with four match points and ended the match at 21-17. Sindhu managed to save just one match point before Young wrapped up the game.
