Liverpool vs Chelsea: Team news, Predicted XI for UEFA Super Cup 2019, When and Where to watch
New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: UEFA Champions league champions Liverpool is set to play Chelsea at Vodafone Arena in Instabul in the UEFA Super Cup on Thursday.
Ahead of the important kick-off, both managers Jurgen Klopp and Frank Lampard are facing injury woes. For Liverpool, Alisson Becker was injured in the 4-1 win against Norwich last Friday, he is out for a few weeks with debutant Adrian replacing him in the important fixture. Naby Keita is also expected to be on the bench due to a muscle complaint, as per a report.
Meanwhile, Right-back Nathaniel Clyne has been out for six months after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in pre-season.
Frank Lampard who is playing with a set of young players will be without the experience N'Golo Kante, who picked up a small injury at Old Trafford. Willian is recovering from his knee injury during the Copa America while Loftus Cheek and Odoi ruptured their Achilles' tendon.
Chelsea had lost their previous match 4-0 against Manchester United in the premier league.
The highest goalscorer of the club based at Stamford Bridge, Lampard is in his first stint as manager at Chelsea.
As far as the match is concerned, Liverpool is the favorite to win the match, but the only question arises is if Adrian can perform well in the absence of Becker.
