European Football: Heung Son Min scores 'Goal of the Season'; Messi celebrates Ballon d'Or with hat-trick

New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Tottenham Hotspur's star striker Heung Son Min on Saturday left every in awe when he single-handed broke the defense of Burnley and scored the goal by dragging it from 18 yards away from his own net. The unbelievable strike saw the crowd applauding for the next four and a half minutes. Son was also the last player to leave the pitch following a rousing response by fans at the arena for the South Korean's skill, craft, and intent. The one-sided contest by Tottenham saw a couple of goals from captain Harry Kane and one each from Lucas Moura and Moussa Sissoko as the hosts registered an easy 5-0 win over Sean Dyche's men.

In the exciting matchday, Manchester United stunned Manchester City 2-1 in the derby match. Striker Marcus Rashford scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute while Anthony Martial doubled the lead within six minutes. The only goal for Pep Guardiola's side came from Nicholas Otamendi in the 85th minute. In other matches, table-toppers Liverpool registered 3-0 win over Bournemouth while Watford and Crystal Palace's match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Messi celebrates Ballon d'Or in style
Argentinian and club legend (Barcelona FC) Lionel Messi, who was playing his first match after receiving his sixth Ballon d'Or title-- topmost football award in Europe-- scored a hat-trick on Saturday to help his side register an emphatic 3-2 win over Mallorca in La Liga. The 32-year-old registered goals in 17th, 41st and 83rd minute and also surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo's record of scoring the most number of goals in the history of the tournament. Other goals from Barcelona included one each from former Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Greizmann and Luis Suarez.
In other Laliga fixtures held on Saturday night, Granada beat Alaves 3-0, while Levante lost to Valencia 4-2.
