New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Soon after a media report emerged on Wednesday suggesting that former member of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) Kumar Vishwas is expected to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Delhi Elections 2020, Vishwas ridiculed the report by saying that he is in Qatar attending an NRI event. He also asked that ‘Shall I join from here’?.

The poet-turned-politician took to Twitter and took a dig at the reports and tweeted in Hindi, "Shall I join from here, if you say? Run this report every week, why do you bother your fingers time and again," said Vishwas while responding to a tweet by a journalist.

Here's what he tweeted:

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Kumar Vishwas had unsuccessfully contested on the AAP ticket against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and BJP's Smriti Irani from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.

Later, he distanced himself from the Aam Aadmi Party and cited differences with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal as the reason behind his move. In 2017, AAP’s MLA from Okhla, Amanatullah Khan had accused Kumar Vishwas of being an agent of the ‘RSS and BJP’.

"Kumar Vishwas is trying to usurp the AAP and break the AAP. He is calling MLAs to his residence and saying that he should be made the party convener. Or else, they (MLAs) can join the BJP, which is ready to pay Rs 30 crore to each MLA," Khan had alleged.

Responding to his allegations, Kumar Vishwas threatened to leave the party, however, the Aam Aadmi Party later suspended Amanatullah Khan.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday released the list of its candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections 2020. According to the list, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi while Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will contest from Patparganj.

On the other hand, Satyendra Jain will contest from Shakur Basti while Jitendra Tomar from Tri Nagar. Jarnail Singh will fight from Tilak Nagar while Atishi will contest from Kalkaji. SK Bagga will fight the elections from Krishna Nagar constituencies.
