Rajasthan Political Crisis: Sachin Pilot, 12 MLAs in Delhi as CM Gehlot alleges 'game plan' to topple govt
Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot has reportedly flown to Delhi along with 12 of his loyalist MLAs amid talks of "game plan to topple the government". Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had Saturday alleged that BJP was offering Rs 10 to 15 crores to Congress MLAs to switch their allegiance. The BJP, however, rejected the charge and claimed that their was infighting in party.
According to a reports, Pilot has now moved his base to Delhi and is likely to meet the party's central leadership to discuss with the Congress party's central leadership CM Gehlot's "sidelining attempts". Several Congress MLAs are also reportedly holed up in Gurugram.
Earlier on Saturday, CM Gehlot accused the BJP of trying to topple the Congress government in the state by using money to lure his MLAs. The Rajasthan chief minister alleged that the BJP is offering his MLAs between Rs 10 and 15 crore to switch sides.
"Whether it is Satish Poonia or Rajendra Rathore, they are playing games to topple our govt on behest of their central leadership. They are offering Rs 10 cr in advance & Rs 15 cr after govt is toppled... these are the kind of promises they are making," Gehlot said.
The BJP, however, rubbished his allegations and claimed that there was "infighting" within the Congress and the CM was trying to pin blame on the Opposition. "It is the Congress's own infighting but Ashok Gehlot wants to blame BJP. He is a veteran leader of the Congress and his pain is justified because the Congress has shrunk in the country," BJP's state president Satish Poonia said.
Last night, Gehlot had called and emergency cabinet meeting at his residence to discuss the prevailing political situation in the state. The Rajasthan CM met his ministers Shanti Dhariwal, Raghu Sharma, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and Tikaram Jully and some Independent MLAs. The meeting was skipped by Sachin Pilot.
