New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Ten Goa Congress MLAs who had resigned on Wednesday joined BJP in presence of working president JP Nadda and Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Delhi today. The group will later meet BJP president Amit Shah.

Sawant had arrived in the national capital with these MLAs and met Shah and BJP working president J P Nadda. There was no official word over what transpired in his meeting with the top party brass but sources said a Cabinet reshuffle in Goa is likely with the induction of the 10 MLAs.

With this, the Congress party which is grappling for survival in Karnataka has suffered yet another blow on the formal induction of its 10 MLAs into the BJP, taking the party's strength from 17 to 27 in the Legislative Assembly.

On Wednesday, Sawant arrived Delhi along with 10 MLAs to meet Shah to discuss strategy and further political developments.

With 10 MLAs changing the sides, the strength of Congress on the floor of the House was reduced to mere five.

These MLAs include -- Kavlekar, Isidore Fernandes, Francis Silveira, Filipe Neri Rodrigues, Jennifer, Atanasio Monserrate, Antonio Fernandes, Nilakanth Halarnkar, Clafacio Dias and Wilfred D'Sa.

Earlier, Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Anand Sharma, protested near the Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex and accused the BJP of starting a political crisis in both Goa and Karnataka. They were also carrying placards with messages like "Save Democracy".
