BJP J&K chief Ravinder Raina tests coronavirus positive, top party leaders go into self-quarantine
Top BJP leader Ram Madhav, Avinash Rai Khanna and MoS Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh on Tuesday went into self-quarantine after Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina, with whome they had close contact, tested coroanvirus positive. All these leaders had Sunday gone to meet the family of BJP's Bandipora district president Wasim Bari, who was killed by terrorists along with his father and brother.
Raina has tested coroanvirus positive and admitted to the Narayana hospital in the Katra town of Reasi district for the treatment. He is reportedly suffering from mild symptoms and kept in an isolation ward of the hospital.
Following Raina's positive reports, Ram Madhav and Jitendra Singh, who works in the Prime Minister's Office, said that they are self-isolating themselves as they had close contact with Raina in the last 48 hours. Avinash Khanna, BJP national vice president, has also reportedly self-quarantined himself.
"Have gone into Self-Quarantine with immediate effect from 4 PM today, after receiving the news about #Corona positive test of J&K BJP President Sh Ravinder Raina who had accompanied us from Srinagar to Bandipora on 12th July," Singh wrote on Twitter.
Ram Madhav said that he has tested negative for coronavirus four times in the last two weeks yet taking all the precautions. He also wished Raina speedy recovery.
"Am quarantining myself for a few days since my colleague n BJP J&K President Ravinder Raina tested +ve for Corona today n I was with him 48 hrs ago in Srinagar. I tested -ve for Corona 4 times during travel in last 2 weeks. Yet taking precautions to ensure safety of me n others (sic)," the BJP national general secretary said.
