New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: With the Windows 7 era coming to an end, almost everyone have updated their Pc to Windows 10. Tech giant Microsoft is set to end the support for Windows 7 on Jnauray 14 (Tuesday). As a result, your PCs or Laptops will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, security patches or even technical help for Windows 7. The company solely wants to focus on Windows 10 heading into the 2020s and will be developing features for the same in terms of patches, security updates, performance boost and so on. What comes a good news that is you can still upgrade your PC to windows 10 for free.

In a statement, Microsoft said, "After January 14, 2020, if your PC is running Windows 7, it will no longer receive security updates. Therefore, it's important that you upgrade to a modern operating system such as Windows 10, which can provide the latest security updates to help keep you and your data safer. In addition, Microsoft customer service will no longer be available to provide Windows 7 technical support. Related services for Windows 7 will also be discontinued over time."

You don't need to purchase the new version. Here's how to upgrade Windows 10 for free:
Step 1. Visit the Windows 10 download webpage.

Step 2. Download Tool Now and download 10 Media Creation Tool

Step 3. Run the downloaded file and accept the terms and conditions

Step 4. Select upgrade this PC now and click on Next

Step 5. Click on keep personal files and apps and click on continue.

Step 6. The installation process will take some time. Once it is finished, users can connect to the internet and open Settings >Windows Update > Activation.

Note: Windows 10 upgrade will not work on unlicensed or cracked versions of Windows 7.
