Mumbai | Jagran News Desk: The much-awaited expansion of the Maharashtra Council of Ministers will take place on Monday and according to a report by news agency ANI, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's son Aaditya Thackeray is likely to be sworn-in as a minister.
Aaditya, who is an MLA from Worli, is the first member of the Thackeray family to contest elections and is likely to become one of the youngest ministers of the state.
The cabinet expansion of the Maharashtra Council of Ministers will take place on Monday. The cabinet expansion event is slated to begin at 1 pm at the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai.

According to ANI, Congress leaders Vijay Wadettiwar, KC Padvi, Amit Deshmukh, Sunil Kedar, and Yashomati Thakur will be taking oath as ministers as part of the Cabinet expansion. MLAs Varsha Gaikwad, Aslam Sheikh, Satej Patil and Vishvajeet Kadam will also be sworn-in as ministers from Congress quota, the report further said.
On the other hand, Nawab Malik, Jitendra Awhad, along with Dhanjaya Munde, Anil Deshmukh, Dr. Rajendra Shingne, Rajesh Tope, Hasan Mushrif, Balasheb Patil and Dilip Walse Patil will be sworn-in as ministers from the NCP.
Meanwhile, ANI report have further claimed that NCP's Ajit Pawar is also likely to be sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. This comes merely a month after Ajit being appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister in the short-lived BJP-NCP alliance government which held sway for just three days in the state.
Uddhav Thackeray was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on November 28 bringing an end to the month long impasse in the state. Along with Thackeray, six other leaders from the 'Maha Vikas Aghadi' government (two each from Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP) were sworn-in as ministers.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi or the alliance of Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress staked claimed to form the government in Maharashtra after Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP failed to prove majority in the 288-member state assembly.
