New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: In wake of the coronavirus lockdown imposed in the country, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has decided to postponed the combined state and upper subordinate exam (mains)-2019. The UP PCS 2019 exam was scheduled to be held in this month. The UPPSC has also postponed the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exam that was scheduled to be held in the next month.
The UP PSC exam was scheduled to be held on April 20 while the UPPSC RO and ARO prelims exam 2016 were scheduled for May 3. The exams have been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown in the country, said UPPSC controller of examination Arvind Kumar Mishra.
According to the latest notice issued by the commission, the UPPSC will the UPPSC PCS Main, UPPSC RO and ARO prelims exams will be declared in due course of time at the official website of UPPSC at uppsc.up.nic.in.
The PSC Mains examination is conducted by the UPPSC to recommend candidates for the civil service of the provinces. The result of the preliminary exam was declared on February 17 and 6,320 candidates were able to pass the exam. As many as 31,81,475 candidates had given the exam.
The exams have been cancelled amid the coronavirus lockdown. In Uttar Pradesh, the novel infection has affected 410 people so far and claimed the lives of four in the state.
Of the total cases in UP, 225 are linked to last month's Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi, said Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad, adding that a total of 31 people have recovered so far.
Prasad said wearing masks while venturing out has been made mandatory in the state under the Epidemic Act.
