New Delhi | Jagran Education Desk: The government in Mizoram has decided to resume its Class 12 board exams or Higher Secondary, state education minister Lalchhandama Ralte told news agency PTI on Wednesday. He added that the ongoing class 12 exam was postponed due to lockdown.
"The examination will be resumed on April 22 and continue till April 24 for three remaining subjects in 84 centres across the state," he said.
Lalchhandama said that the state government has launched online classes on television to bridge the gap between students and schools and reduce inconvenience.
The classes began on Monday and were telecast on Doordarshan between 3 pm to 5 pm for class 10 students in mathematics and science. He went on to say that similar classes were also launched on local cable television LPS on Wednesday at 4 pm and it will be launched in another TV network Zonet from Thursday at 2 pm.
Similarly, the online tutorial class for class 9 students will start as early as next week.
The classes which were broadcasted on DD network have been uploaded on YouTube, added Ralte. He also urged the students to attend the televised classes from homes with notebooks and pens and use videos uploaded on YouTube.
Meanwhile, the new academic session began on April 1.
On March 17, the state government had closed all educational institutions in the state as a precautionary measure to combat COVID-19 in the state.
Speaking to PTI, the Education minister said that the government has organised poster making competition for students of primary schools and middle schools.
While the topic for primary school students was 'Lockdown', the topic for middle school students was 'Prevention for COVID-19'.
The competition will come to an end on Friday.
He added that a video clip competition is also being held among primary school teachers on 'innovative practice in teaching'.
