New Delhi | Jagran Lifestyle Desk: Summer Solstice, also known as ‘Estival Solstice’ or ‘Midsummer’ is the longest day of the year and is regarded as the starting of summer in northern hemisphere. This year, Summer Solstice will be observed on June 20th itself – Greenwich Mean Time, 21:43 hours onwards, which is 3:13 am (June 21, Indian Standard Time or the IST). This phenomenon is observed twice in a year -- once in northern hemisphere and other in southern hemisphere.

Generally, Summer Solstice is observed from June 20 and June 22 in the northern hemisphere while from December 20 and December 23 in the southern hemisphere. So as the world observes Summer Solstice in northern hemisphere, here are some wishes, messages and quotes to share with friends and family:
