New Delhi | Jagran Lifestyle Desk: Eid-al-Adha or Bakra Eid, is the ‘festival of sacrifice’ which is celebrated by Muslims all over the world.

To celebrate this day, Muslims sacrifice a male goat as a symbol of the sacrifice made by Ibrahim and offer prayers.

On this day, people wear new clothes and greet each other. Lots of delicacies are prepared to celebrate the festival with fun and excitement and prepare some delicious foods.

So here’s a list of few delicacies that you should not forget on Bakra Eid:


Halem is a popular dish made with wheat, barley, meat and lentils and is cooked with broken wheat and delicious mix of Indian spices.   

Mutton Keema Kofta

This dish is a must try on Eid. In this dish, the mutton balls are deep fried and allowed to cook in the simmering gravy which adds taste and texture to the curry.

Mutton Stew

Served with piping hot steamed rice or any Indian bread, mutton cooked in a light brown gravy with seasonal veggies is as yummy as it is wholesome.

Kakori Kebab

It is a special Lucknow dish which is made with minced lamb or mutton and marinated with spices and grilled on skewers to perfection.

Mutton Shami Kebab

It is one of the most popular non-vegetarian snacks that can be prepared at home. It is packed with mutton keema and chana dal along with a myriad of spices and herbs.
