Who is Air Marshall RKS Bhadauria? All you need to know about new IAF chief
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The government on Thursday appointed Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria as the next IAF Chief. Bhadauria is currently serving as the Vice Chief of Air Staff and will take over Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, who is set to retire on September 30.
RKS Bhadauria will be the 26th Air Chief Marshal of the IAF.

Interestingly, Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria was also due to retire on the same day as BS Dhanoa. But now that he has been appointed as the Chief of Air staff, he will serve a three-year term or till the age of 62, whichever is sooner. In this case, his term will be two years.
Hailing originally from Korth near Agra, RKS Bhadauria is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Bhadauria was commissioned in the fighter stream of the IAF on June 15, 1980. He is married to Asha Bhadauria and they have a daughter and a son.
According to his profile on the official website of the Indian Air Force, Bhadauria has a flying experience of over 4250 hours and has flown 26 types of fighter jets and transport aircraft.
He has a 'unique distinction of being an Experimental Test Pilot, a Cat ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor and a Pilot Attack Instructor'. During his career, he has held several - command and staff - appointments such as — Command of a Jaguar Squadron and a premier Air Force Station, Commanding Officer of Flight Test Squadron at Aircraft & System Testing Establishment, Chief Test Pilot and Project Director of National Flight Test Centre on Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) project.
He has also served as Air Attache, at EoI Moscow, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Projects) and been the commandant of the NDA. Prior to assuming his role as Vice Chief of Air Staff, Bhadauria was the Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-in-C) of Training Command and prior to that, of Southern Air Command.
In his 36 years long career Bhadauria is decorated with several awards and medals including the PVSM, AVSM, VM and is one of the ADCs to the supreme Commander.
