Heavy rains inundates Delhi, truck-driver drowns under waterlogged Minto Bridge
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: At least one person died due to drowning after heavy rains inundated several areas of Delhi and NCR on Sunday. The body of the Kunda, a truck driver spotted underneath the Minto bridge by a trackman.
"I spotted the body while I was on duty at the tracks. I came down, swam and retrieved it. The body was floating in front of a bus," Trackman Ramniwas Meena was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The Delhi Police said that the 60-year-old pick-up truck driver tried to cross a waterlogged underpass but couldn't succeed and died of drowning.
"A person identified as Kundan, about 60 yrs old, was driving towards CP this morning. He tried to manoeuvre his vehicle through waterlogged underpass but apparently couldn't succeed. Seems he died of drowning. No external injury marks. Inquest proceedings u/s 174 CrPC on," the police said.

The iconic Minto bridge where the incident happened was flooded by rains. A DTC bus also submerged in the waters. In a video shared by news agency ANI, the bus can be seen stuck under the bridge with water level above its windows.
