New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: After getting arrested by the Madhya Pradesh Police in Ujjain, the dreaded gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter on Friday morning while he was brought back to UP via road.

According to the police, the notorious gangster was killed while he was trying to escape the spot after one of the cars of the convoy of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) overturned due to heavy rains on a highway in UP.

After the news of his encounter went viral, it created chaos on social media where people reacted quickly to his killing and commented on the nature of the encounter.

While netizens wanted the history-sheeter to be killed, they criticised the encounter saying it has buried the information related to his criminal network.

The reactions that compared his encounter with a movie scene hit social media with a storm with many sharing trolls on it.

Interestingly, one of the sarcastic comments also drew attention on a twitter post.

However, it was just not a section of Twitterati who indulged in questioning this incident. The opposition also attacked the Uttar Pradesh government, saying the gangster's killing was a “planned encounter” earlier on Friday morning.

Demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter, the Opposition alleged that Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government “saved its secrets” by killing Dubey.

"Vikas Dubey attempted to flee by snatching pistol of the injured policemen after car overturned. Police tried to make him surrender, during which he fired at the policemen. He was injured in retaliatory firing by police. He was later rushed to the hospital," said SP Kanpur West in a statement to ANI.

His dramatic arrest carried outside the Ujjain’s Mahakaal temple on Thursday raised alarm bells on social media regarding the controversies revolving questioning how the gangster was able to travel 700 kms from Faridabad to the high security zone of Mahakaal while a hunt has been issued to nab the gangster.
