New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Special Task Force has submitted a CD of Vikas Dubey's interrogation and statements to the state government and the Enforcement Directorate. The statements were recorded while the gangster was being shifted from Ujjain to Kanpur.

According to reports, STF had asked Dubey more than 50 questions, which also included his political patronage and informers in the police department.

During the interrogation, Dubey reportedly mentioned several names, including 11 MLAs and ministers, four businessmen and five big officials. The gangster was anxious and didn't sleep on the way to Kanpur.

SIT formed to probe Vikas Dubey's rise

After facing criticism, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the rise of Kanpur gangster Vikas Dubey, who was killed by police in an alleged encounter on Friday. In a statement, the Yogi government said that the SIT will investigate how Dubey managed to kill eight policemen when they went to arrest him from his house in his native in Kanpur.

The SIT will be headed by Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy and submit its report to the government by July 31, the statement said. The government has asked the SIT to probe whether the police took effective action against the gangster when it received complaints against him.

Vikas Dubey was killed by police in an encounter after he allegedly tried to flee from their custody while being taken to Kanpur from Ujjain. According to the police, the car in which Dubey was being taken to Kanpur overturned on an isolated stretch of the highway on the outskirts of the city. After the accident, Dubey allegedly snatched a police pistol and killed in cross-fire.
