New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Delhi Chief Minister on Monday said that barbershops and salons will be opened but spas will remain closed in unlock 1 that comes into effect today. 

"Apart from whatever was allowed till now, barbershops and salons will be opened but spas will remain closed," said Arvind Kejriwal as quoted by ANI.

The barbershops have been closed in the national capital since nationwide lockdown was announced by PM Modi on March 24. 

The announcement comes a couple of days after the Home Ministry shared revised guidelines for Lockdown 5 that has been extended in containment zones.

The number of passengers travelling in auto, e-rickshaw and other vehicles have been lifted. 

"In autos, e-rickshaws and other vehicles, as per earlier orders, the number of passengers was fixed. But now we are lifting the restrictions on the number of passengers travelling in auto, e-rickshaws and other vehicles," he said as quoted by ANI. 

Earlier only one passenger was allowed in e-rickshaw, two in cabs and 20 people in buses. 

Speaking about unlock 1, Kejriwal also added that odd-even rule is being followed so all shops can open now.

"We are following odd-even rule for shops in markets but the central government has not stated any such rule, so all shops can open now," ANI quoted him as saying. 

Amid rising cases in the national capital over last few days, Kejriwal said that Delhi borders will be sealed for one week, only essential items will be allowed. 

"Delhi borders to be sealed for the next one week. Essential services are exempted. We will take a decision again in one week to open borders after suggestions from citizens," he said. 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of cases in Delhi is 19,844 and the death toll has risen to 473. A total of 8478 patients have recovered from the pandemic.
