Sushant Singh Rajput's Demise: Case filed against Rhea Chakraborty in Bihar court for abetment of suicide
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: A case was filed against the actress Rhea Chakraborty on Saturday in a Bihar court, accusing her of abetting the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput, the 34-year-old rising star of the entertainment world who committed suicide on June 14th at his Bandra-situated house in Mumbai. Sushant and Rhea were reportedly in a relationship at the time of the actor’s death.
A Muzaffarpur resident, Kundan Kumar, has filed the petition before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar in Muzaffarpur, which has been slated for hearing on Wednesday, June 24.
Kundan has accused Rhea Chakraborty of Sushant’s “financial and mental exploitation”. “My client is a huge fan of Rajput and has been deeply distressed by his suicide. He has filed his complaint under IPC Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 420 (fraud),” Kundan Kumar’s lawyer Kamlesh told the local media in Muzaffarpur.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has reportedly recorded 15 statements in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case, including that of Rhea Chakraborty’s. Mumbai police is also probing the angle of professional rivalry and have acquired the duplicates of the contract signed by Sushant from Yash Raj Movies, news agency ANI reported.
Earlier, a similar petition filed by a local advocate in Muzaffarpur had accused Film industry’s bigwigs Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Salman Khan, alleging that the powerful group of filmmakers tried to stall Sushant Singh Rajput’s career by sidelining him systematically.
Among the accused filmmaker-producers, Ekta Kapoor had then defended herself by saying that it was she “who actually launched him”. Calling the accusations “convoluted theories”, Ekta requested fans to let Sushant’s family grieve in peace. Except for Ekta, nobody else has reacted on the accusations put on them in the wake of Sushant’s suicide.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden death has stoked unprecedented reactions from all across the country, questioning the monopoly of certain lobbied groups in the Film industry who tend to promote their insider-contacts over the deserving outsiders. Former Member of Parliament from Vaishali, Lovely Anand and stalwart of Bihar politics Pappu Yadav have demanded a CBI probe into the suicide.
