Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case | Probing every angle behind actor's suicide, statements of 27 people recorded: Mumbai Police
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The Mumbai Police on Saturday said that that they are investigating every possible angle into what led actor Sushant Singh Rajput take the extreme step of ending his life.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe said that Bandra Police have recorded statements of 27 people so far into the death case. He further said that the postmortem report clarified that the actor died by 'asphyxiation due to hanging'.
"Bandra police has recorded statements of 27 people so far in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. We've got his detailed post-mortem report and doctors have clearly mentioned asphyxia due to hanging as cause of his death," said Trimukhe.
"We are investigating the reason behind his suicide from every angle," he added.
While several family members of the late actor and some Bollywood celebs have alleged foul play into the death, the final postmortem confirmed suicide by hanging. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have been proboing all angles into the death case, including professional rivalry.

Sushant was reportedly suffering from depression for the past several months and several fans and celebs have claimed that he was a victim of the alleged nepotism in the Bollywood. Several actors and directors, including Karan Johar and Salman Khan, have been criticised for the alleged favouritism in the showbiz industry following Sushant's untimely demise.
Several Bollywood celebs, along with BJP MP Roopa Ganguly, have alleged suspicious activities in Sushant's social media accounts. Ganguly has even demanded CBI probe intot the death case.
""Nobody knows what is being added and what is being deleted. How come somebody is operating his account? Is it the Police or somebody else? How is it that his Instagram account is being operated now?" she wrote on Twitter.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Saturday wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding a probe into the death of actor Sushant by a Special Investigation Team comprising officers from the CBI, NIA, ED and the Income Tax department.
Dubey said a "legal framework" is immediately required to "regulate the day-to-day affairs" of the film industry and to control various "illegal activities" being continued in one form or the other.
Alleging that the film industry is being controlled by people with "links to mafia", he said they don't let talented actors from small towns grow.
"... No aspiring actors, no newcomers from small towns are able to make it in the film industry and if someone talented from a small town like Sushant Singh Rajput tries to make it, they (people having links with mafia) torture him to the point which results in their death," the BJP MP said.
Dubey also alleged that the actor had signed a contract with a big production house which did not allow him to work with other production houses.
The actor was found hanging at his Mumbai home on June 14. He was cremated the next day in the presence of family members and close friends from the film and TV industry.
