Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Sanjay Leela Bhansali arrives at Bandra police station to record statement
Mumbai | Jagran News Desk: The Mumbai Police on Monday questioned Bollywood filmmaker Sushant Singh Rajput and recorded his statements in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, who had committed suicide on June 14 at his Bandra residence.
The police so far have recorded statements of over 30 people, including Rhea Chakraborty, Mahesh Shetty, co-star Sanjana Sanghi and filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra, in connection with Sushant’s death.
According to media reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was reportedly keen to cast Sushant Singh Rajput in his film ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ but chose Ranveer Singh later. Media reports suggest that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had offered four films to Rajput but none of them worked out.

“Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were quite fond of each other as well as their work. In fact, not once but 4 times working together was on the cards for them, SLB had offered him 4 films, but due to date issues, things didn’t materialise,” the Economic Times quoted sources as saying.
About Sushant Singh Rajput’s death:
Sushant Singh Rajput had committed suicide at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra on June 14. The MS Dhoni: The Untold Story actor was reportedly suffering from depression, the police had said while adding that an investigation is underway to check if the demise hinted any professional rivalry.
Later the postmortem report of Rajput cited asphyxia due to hanging as the cause of his death. “Provisional postmortem report has been submitted by doctors at Bandra Police Station. Team of 3 doctors have conducted the autopsy of Sushanth Singh Rajput. The provisional cause of death is asphyxia due to hanging,” news agency ANI quoted Abhishek Trimukhe, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), as saying.
Probing every angle behind actor’s suicide
Sushant’s caused widespread anger among his fans and debate on favouritism and nepotism in Bollywood was started. Several people, including Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, said that the Mumbai Police will probe into the alleged cause of ‘clinical depression owing to the professional rivalry’ behind Rajput’s death.
Later, Maharashtra Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe had said that the police are investigating the reason behind his suicide from every angle. “Bandra police has recorded statements of 27 people so far in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. We've got his detailed post-mortem report and doctors have clearly mentioned asphyxia due to hanging as cause of his death,” he had said.
