New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: A tragedy was averted on Wednesday after a SpiceJet flight from Dubai to Jaipur made an emergency landing at the Jaipur International Airport after one of its tyres burst.

The SG 58 flight -- reportedly a Boeing 737 -- which had 189 passengers on board, suffered the tyre burst while landing at the airport at around 9 am. The pilot, however, managed to land the aircraft safely without any injuries to passengers or the crew itself.

Passengers were safely evacuated.

In January this year, SpiceJet's Boeing 737 MAX plane from Hong Kong suffered a mid-air engine problem forcing the aircraft to make emergency landing in Varanasi. The plane was flying to Delhi from Hong Kong.

In another incident around the same time, a Pratt &Whitney engine of an IndiGo A320 neo plane had stopped working mid-air when the aircraft was on its way to Kolkata from Chennai.

There have been issues with Boeing 737 MAX planes, which are currently flown by SpiceJet and Jet Airways.
