New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: At least seven migrant workers were killed while 32 of them were injured in two separate accidents in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra on Tuesday, reported news agency ANI.

In the first accident, at least three migrant labourers died and more than 12 were injured after a DCM vehicle carrying them overturned on Jhansi-Mirzapur highway in UP's Mahoba during early hours of Tuesday. As per reports, about 17 persons were travelling in the vehicle. The injured were rushed to the hospital.

In another accident, four migrant workers died, while 15 others were injured after a bus in which they were travelling crashed into a truck, in Yavatmal during early morning on Tuesday. The bus was travelling from Solapur to Jharkhand.

Last week at least 14 migrants died in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in two separate accidents. In the first accident, at least eight labourers died, while nearly 54 were injured after a truck collided with a bus in Cantt PS area in Guna, Madhya Pradesh.

In the second accident,  at least 2 migrants died, while 12 others were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck today near Shankar Chowk in Samastipur, Bihar. 

Since the lockdown has been announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several migrants have been returning to their home towns.  A few weeks ago, at least 16 migrant workers lost their lives after they were run over by a goods train while they were sleeping on the tracks. All of them were returning to their hometown in Madhya Pradesh. At least five others were injured in the incident.  

The central government is running special Shramik trains for the movement of migrant workers. The state have also arranged buses for the plight of migrants from cities to hometown. A number of migrants walked on foot and other vehicles to their hometowns. Many of them have lost their lives.
