‘Received over 5 lakh suggestions from Delhiites on roadmap after May 17’: Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday informed that the Delhi government has received over 5 lakh suggestions from the Delhiites about the roadmap after May 17, and said that different economic activities will be allowed in the city from Monday based on decisions taken by the Centre on lockdown relaxation.
Kejriwal also said that a meeting will be held at 4 pm today with Delhi LG and State Disaster Management Authority, where the suggestions will be discussed, to what extent relaxations will be given in the national and a report based on these suggestions will be sent to the Centre.
“We had sought suggestion from people, we have received more than 5 lakh suggestions. Based on these suggestions, we will send a proposal to the Centre. A meeting between Lieutenant Governor & State Disaster Management Authority will be held at 4 pm today. The suggestions given by you all will be discussed at the meeting. To what extent should relaxations be given in Delhi, these suggestions will be sent to central government”, Kejriwal said as reported by news agency ANI.
Kejriwal on Tuesday sought suggestions from the people about ‘what they want’ after May 17 in the national capital.
Kejriwal said that most of the people have suggested that that schools and educational institutes in the state capital should remain closed till the end of summer vacations on June 30. he also said that many of them have also suggested that hotels should remain closed, however, people suggested that restaurants should be opened for take-away and home deliveries.
“Most have suggested that schools & educational institutes should stay closed till summer vacations. Most people also said that hotels should stay closed however restaurants should be opened for take-away & home delivery”, Kejriwal said.
“There is almost a consensus that barber shops, spas, saloons, cinema halls, & swimming pools should not open yet”, he added.
The government, Kejriwal said, also received many suggestions from the market associations and most of them called for the opening of markets and market complexes on odd-even basis.
“We have received a lot of suggestions from many market associations and most of them have said market & market complexes should be opened. They said they can be opened on odd-even basis, half shops one day & half shops another”, Kejriwal said.
Delhi has so far recorded 8,470 coronavirus cases, with 472 new infections reported in last 24 hours. 115 people have also succumbed to the deadly virus in the national capital.
