Punjab Police foils major attack on religious leaders, arrests 3 Pakistan-backed KLF terrorists
The Punjab Police on Tuesday foiled a major bid by Pakistan-backed Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF) terrorists to carry out attacks on socio-religious leaders and disturb the social harmony of the state. The Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab said that three KLF terrorists who were part of the conspiracy have been arrested.
Security agencies have already revealed Pakistan's sinister plan to revive militancy in Punjab. The country, notorious for peddling terrorism, has been backing and helping Khalistani terrorists to carry out attacks in Punjab.
The recent development has come days after security forces shot down a Pakistani drone along the International Border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. The drone was carrying arms.
"The BSF has shot down a drone from Pakistan near Kathua and recovered among others M-4 US-made semi-automatic rifle, 60 rounds in it, two magazines and seven M67 grenades," Inspector General, BSF Jammu Frontier NS Jamwal said.
He said that the Pakistanis were clearly trying to supply arms to someone on the Indian side and matter will be investigated. "It is a big development because the Pakistanis have adopted similar modus operandi of what they have been doing in Punjab," he had added.
