Pakistani drone enters Punjab’s Ferozepur for third consecutive day, forces on high alert
Ferozepur | Jagran News Desk: The Border Security Force on Wednesday evening spotted a Pakistan-origin drone near the Ferozepur border in Punjab. This is the second time in the last three days that drones have been spotted in this area.
According to news agency ANI, the drone was first spotted around 7:15 pm over Hazarsingh Wala village and again spotted by security personnel and locals at 10.10 pm over Tendiwala village.
This is for the third consecutive day when a Pakistani drone entered the Indian air space. Earlier, drones were on Monday night. The officials also spotted a suspected Pakistani drone over two villages in Indian territory in the Hussainiwala area.
“For the last two days we have been spotting a drone-like object hovering near our border with Pakistan. We have formed teams to investigate and have approached BSF also,” news agency ANI quoted Sukhvinder Singh, District Superintendent of Police as saying.
Meanwhile, the Police has launched an elaborate investigations to account for the weapons consignments apparently smuggled into India from across the border by the two drones recovered near the India-Pakistan border over the last around one month.
The investigations have revealed that the drones were used to drop weapons sent by terror groups from Pakistan.
“Police teams are also on the job to ascertain the links of the terror groups involved in sending these drones from Pakistan,” news agency IANS quoted a police official as saying.
According to officials, the weapons were smuggled into India for terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir after the government revoked Article 370 and bifurcated the state into two union territories.
The intelligence agencies, meanwhile, have reported that Pakistan has reactivated terror camps along the Line of Control (LoC) and will try to infiltrate as many terrorists as possible. The security forces, however, have asked the troops deployed on the border to have a rigorous check on these types of air-intrusion in the near future.
