Mumbai Woman issued with challan for blocking road on suspicion of husband’s affair
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: In a bizarre incident, a woman trying to catch her husband on suspicion of an affair was issued with a challan by Mumbai Police on Saturday for causing a traffic jam.
The enraged woman was issued a challan for abandoning her vehicle in the middle of the Pedder Road in Mumbai which resulted in the obstruction of the traffic movement.
According to a report by HT, police sources said that the woman was chasing her husband’s Range Rover on Pedder road. The woman’s husband allegedly had a female co-passenger in his car.
However, no criminal offence was registered against the woman, Hindustan Times quoted police officials as saying.
The video of the incident went viral on social media and entertained netizens. In the video, the woman can be seen climbing on the bonnet of her husband’s car and yelling at him to come out of the car. When the husband came out of the car, the woman kicked him. The angry woman reportedly suspected that her husband was having an affair, and hence in order to chase him, obstructed his Range Rover on Pedder Road.

The sight of the woman angrily standing against her husband’s vehicle shocked many passersby and resulted in continuous honking by other individuals travelling on the road.
Pravin Padval, an additional commissioner of police (traffic) in a statement to HT said, “This occurred on Saturday evening. We have issued a challan to the woman for obstruction of traffic.”
