MHA seeks report from Delhi Police over video of cops thrashing a tempo driver
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday has asked the Commissioner of Delhi police to submit a report after videos of Delhi policemen publicly thrashing a tempo driver went viral on social media.
A video had gone viral on social media in which Delhi policemen were seen allegedly beating a Gramin Seva drive in Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi.

In the video, it can be seen that the gramin seva drive attacked a Delhi police officer with a sword following an accident between their vehicles. After this, the cops caught the drive and thrashed him with sticks.
A senior police officer said that the accident between a Gramin Sewa Tempo and a police vehicle occurred in the evening on Sunday, leading to a fight between a police officer and the tempo driver which turned violent.
The police officer continued and said that the tempo driver attacked a police officer on the head with a sword. The tempo was driven dangerously and caused injuries to a policeman in the leg.
The policemen identified as assistant sub-inspectors Sanjay Malik and Devendra, and constable Pushpendra have been suspended, the police said.
Delhi Police spokesperson Anil Mittal said the policemen handled the incident in an "unprofessional manner".
