Forces go all-out against terror in Jammu and Kashmir, 70 terrorists eliminated in June alone
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Security Forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir have recorded some of the biggest successes against the terror machinery in Jammu and Kashmir, with 70 terrorists neutralised by the forces in June alone, including the ones who were killed along the Line of Control while infiltrating to the Indian side.
For the first time since 1989, there is no active Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist in the volatile Tral town of Pulwama district. On June 29th, with the last remaining Hizbul terrorist, an acting Commander who had shifted his operations to Kashmir from Jammu, got neutralised in an encounter, Doda district was declared ‘militancy free’ by the security forces.
Thirteen terrorists, including Hizbul’s longest surviving Commander Riyaz Naikoo, were eliminated in May bringing the total number of terrorists killed in anti-terror operations to 83, in May-June so far. The focus of the Forces has been to ensure the elimination of ‘Active Terrorists’ as soon as they come on the radar of local and collective intelligence stimulants.
On the other hand, the terror operatives exported out of Pakistan have heavily invested on the terrorists who could carry out another Feb-14 Pulwama like attack, but the Forces have ensured no returns to these terror investments.
Huge loads of IEDs have been recovered from Pulwama at three different points of time at the locations not far from Feb-14 Pulwama attack site, along with the neutralization of IED experts of terror outfits.
After Riyaz Naikoo’s elimination, various uncoordinated terrorist activities were reported from all across Kashmir valley with reports of a suspected breakoff between Jaish-E-Mohammed and Lashkar-E-Taiba as Masood Azhar, the JeM terror-head based in Islamabad, stopped receiving necessary terror stimulation from ISI.
Similar altercations were reported to have taken place between ISI and Hizbul chief Syed Salahuddin as well.
Although, in the recent couple of weeks, various encounters have identified Jaish and Lashkar terrorists operating side-by-side, but the terror activity has severely travelled a downside after subsequent encounters that have kept in check on all kinds of terror activity in Jammu and Kashmir.
