Mumbai | Jagran News Desk: A major fire broke out in a residential building of Millat Nagar in Jogeshwari area of Mumbai on Thursday. Several people are feared trapped in the top floor of the building.

Two fire tenders rushed to the spot. More details awaited.

The incident comes a day after the four-storeyed Kesarbai Building collapsed in the financial capital's crowded Dongri area on Tuesday, claiming 14 lives and leaving several injured.

Building safety is a major issue in Mumbai, one of the world's most crowded cities next to Dhaka in Bangladesh, according to the World Economic Forum.

In May, the civic agency BMC in the country's financial and entertainment hub had identified 499 buildings as "dangerous"; it was 619 last year.
