A 25-YEAR-old drug addict was arrested for allegedly killing his entire family in southwest Delhi's Palam area. The accused has been identified as Keshav, who allegedly stabbed his parents, sister, and grandmother to death over a dispute, the police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place late Tuesday night around 10:30 pm. Soon after the information was received, the police team reached the spot where police found members of a family dead in their house, Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Manoj C, as quoted by PTI said.

According to Delhi police, the accused was arrested from the crime scene while he was trying to flee. The accused had a fight with the family members over not having a stable job, the police said citing a preliminary investigation into the case.

"The motive for the crime (as emerged from the initial investigation) appears to be a quarrel with family members as the accused did not have a stable job," the police as quoted by news agency ANI said.

"On reach reaching the Spot, PCR staff found four family members of the accused had died in their house and the accused who was trying to escape was caught by the caller and his relatives along with PCR staff," the police added.

A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Palam police station and further investigation is on, police said.

Further details are awaited.
