Delhi Lockdown 4.0 News: Construction activities allowed in national capital, but with conditions
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced new guidelines for the national capital as lockdown has been extended across the country till May 31. He said that construction activities are allowed in the national capital now but only with labourers are currently in Delhi.
"Construction activities are allowed in the national capital now but only with labourers who are in Delhi right now," he said.
The decision comes a huge relief for those migrants who are stuck in the national capital with no option of income. The majority of migrant workers have already left the city for their respective hometowns in shramik special trains arranged by the government as well as buses. Some of them even left for their home on foot.
While releasing the guidelines, the Chief Minister also said that coronavirus will be to staying here until there is a vaccine to cure it.
"We have to learn to live with the coronavirus. We became prepared in the last around two months during the lockdown. We need to start our economy, now. We will be following the Centre's guidelines on the lockdown," he said as quoted by ANI.
He further stated that buses would be allowed to ply on the roads, but with conditions. While buses can only carry up to 20 passengers at a time, taxis and cabs are allowed to ply with only two passengers. Autos and e-rickshaws can ply with only one passenger.
Hotels, gymnasium, swimming pool, entertainment parks and auditorium, and places of worship will continue to remain closed. Besides this, social, political, sports, cultural and religious gathering will not remain prohibited.
The development comes a day after the Ministry of Home Affairs released guidelines for the fourth phase of the lockdown. Earlier on May 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that lockdown 4.0 will come with new rules and regulations.
