Coronavirus News: COVID-19 cases would have risen exponentially had lockdown not been implemented, says Govt | Highlights
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Amid the surging number of coronavirus cases in India, the Centre has said that the the mortality rate in the country has remained less than half of the global average of 6.65 per cent while adding that the timely case identification and proper clinical management have helped India keep its mortality rate lower. The government also said that more than 3,000 people have been cured in the last 24 hours itself and the overall recovery rate is improving continuously and has crossed 40 per cent now.
As per the latest data available at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website, the coronavirus has infected 1,18,447 people and claimed the lives of 3,583 while 48,534 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
