New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Shopping malls, restaurants, hotel, religious places and places or worship reopened across India after over two months yesterday as the country entered 'Unlock 1.0', despite the alarming rise in the number of coronavirus cases. Looking at the situation, Mizoram yesterday imposed a "complete lockdown" in the state for two weeks and extended the period of quarantine, which currently is 14 days, to 21 days with immediate effect. Apart from Mizoram, West Bengal also extended the lockdown till June 30 'with all existing relaxations'.

The novel coronavirus has affected 2,56,611 people and claimed the lives of 7,200 in India so far, as per the latest information available at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Health Ministry has said that there are 1,24,981 active COVID-19 cases in India while 1,24,430 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
