Coronavirus News: Cases rise in Uttarakhand, Assam and Rajasthan; DGCA asks airlines to keep middle-seat vacant | Highlights
New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The number of novel coronavirus cases is increasing at an alarming rate in the country. The number of cases have surged to 1,90,535, while the death toll has risen to 5,394, according to the latest data by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of the total number of cases, there are 93,322 active cases, while 91,819 people have been cured.
A day after guidelines were released by Home Ministry, several state governments like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh extended lockdown, and released guidelines-- easing restrictions outside containment zones.
Ministry of Home Affairs' guidelines regarding Unlock1 have come into effect today and will remain effective till June 30.
The unlock 1 phase of re-opening will have an economic focus. Shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, and religious places of worship will be allowed to open from June 8.

Punjab government issues guidelines for #UNLOCK1: Lockdown to continue in #COVID19 containment zones, night curfew from 9pm-5am, SOPs for opening of malls, religious places, hotels and resturants to be issued.

1:32 pm: Colombo: Indians who were stranded in Sri Lanka arrive at the Colombo Port to board the INS Jalashwa. The ship is expected to embark approximately 700 Indian nationals. A passenger says,"I feel very happy as I am going home. I thank Indian Govt." #operationsamudrasetu
