New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The coronavirus cases in the country have been rising exponentially since the end of May when the country crossed the 1 lakh-mark. In just 15 days another 1 lakh cases were reported and in next 10 days the total toll of the dreadful coronavirus in India crossed the grim milestone of 3 lakh leaving behind UK, Italy and Spain to become the fourth worst hit nation of the world.

From last three days, India is witnessing over 11,000 daily caseload. During the last 24 hours, 11,929 cases were reported from across the country taking the total tally to 3.20 lakh. The fatalities due to the COVID-19 also crossed the 9,000-mark.

Over 70 per cent of the total infections were reported from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. These states have also witnessed a rise in number of fatalities from past few days.

 

However, amid these worrying numbers, there are 11 states and Union Territories in the country, doing good to contain the spread, where less than 500 cases have been reported so far and most of them have recorded no deaths.

List of state and UTs with less 500 coronavirus cases and no or fewer deaths:

Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu: Only 35 cases of coronavirus have been reported from these two Union Territories, while no deaths have been reported from the two so far.  

 

Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have reported 38 cases of coronavirus so far, while 33 people have been discharged after being cured of the deadly virus. This Union territory also has reported no deaths so far.

Meghalaya: The northeastern state of Meghalaya has reported 44 cases of COVID-19 so far while only one person has succumbed to the dreadful pathogen. 22 people have also been recovered from the disease.

Sikkim: Sikkim has 63 Covid-19 cases, four recoveries and no deaths so far.

Arunachal Pradesh: In Arunachal Pradesh, 87 people have been afflicted by the coronavirus and four people have been discharged. No deaths have been reported in the state so far.

Mizoram: Mizoram has 107 cases of the highly contagious disease and one person has recovered in the state. Mizoram doesn’t have any fatalities as of now.

Nagaland: In Nagaland, 163 people have been afflicted by the deadly virus, while zero deaths have been reported in the state. 76 people have also been cured and discharged from the hospitals.

Puducherry: In Puducherry, 176 cases of COVID-19 have been reported so far, while two people have succumbed to it. Meanwhile, 82 people have been cured and discharged.  

Chandigarh: It has 345 Covid-19 patients, 286 recoveries and five fatalities so far.

Ladakh: The Union territory of Ladakh has 437 infections and one person has died due to the disease. Sixty-eight people have been cured of Covid-19 in Ladakh.

Manipur: The northeastern state has recorded 449 cases of the coronavirus disease and 91 people have recovered. So far, no one has died in Manipur.
