Ranchi | Jagran News Desk: In order to control the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the central government extended the lockdown till May 17, saying that some relaxations will be given in districts that are classified under the ‘Orange’ and ‘Green’ zones. The government in its order said that the classification will be done by the risks profiling of the districts across the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs further said that in Orange zones, inter-district movement of individuals and vehicles will be allowed for permitted activities only while four-wheeler vehicles will have a maximum of two passengers besides the driver and pillion riding will be allowed on two-wheelers.

"In the Green Zones, all activities are permitted except the limited number of activities which are prohibited throughout the country irrespective of the zone. However, buses can operate with up to 50 per cent seating capacity and bus depots can operate with up to 50 per cent capacity," the MHA said in its order.

So far, the dreadful infection has affected almost 40,000 and claimed the lives of more than 1,300 in India. The situation, however, is comparatively better in Jharkhand as the state has reported only 115 cases and three COVID-19 deaths so far while 22 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.

"Two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Jharkhand. They are from Deoghar. It takes the total number of cases in the State to 115," said the state’s Health Secretary on Saturday.
