New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Restrictions under Section 144 CrPC, which was imposed in all districts of Chhattisgarh to contain the spread of #COVID19, have been extended to the next 3 months, said Chattisgarh government on Monday. 

According to reports submitted by collectors of all 28 districts, the situation is yet to be brought under complete control. There is still a possibility of spread of COVID-19 in several place.

"Therefore, in view of the present circumstances and proposals by district collectors, it is inevitable to extend the period of Section-144, which bars assembly of four or more people, for next three months to contain the transmission of COVID-19," read a notification issued by the state Home department.

Restaurants, clubs and hotel bars will remain closed till the end of this end. Sports complexes and stadiums will also remain shut till further orders.

The decision comes a day after the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) extended nationwide lockdown till May 31. The MHA had on Sunday released the detailed guidelines that need to be followed during lockdown 4.

Soon after the notification was released late on Sunday, Raipur collector S Bharti Dasan issued an order that Section 144 of CrPc will remain effective in the district till August 16 until further orders.

The official added that strict action will be taken against those who will be found violating the rules.

According to the latest data by the Union Health Ministry, Chhattisgarh has reported over 86 cases of COVID-19 with no fatalities. At least 59 patients have been cured of the deadly virus.
